Performance fit gets more accessible in the Salomon S/Pro Alpha BOA 100, a 98mm all-mountain boot that brings the same ExoDrive construction and cuff-mounted BOA system as its stiffer siblings to a friendlier 100 flex. A snug last and a heat-moldable shell mean this boot still skis like a performance product, but the softer flex opens it up to a wider range of skier strength and ability levels.
The ExoDrive third-cuff overlap is the real differentiator here; even at a 100 flex, this boot wraps the ankle and heel more securely than traditional two-overlap shells, and that translates to noticeably better edge control on firm snow.
Advancing intermediates and advanced skiers with narrower feet who want a true performance fit without committing to a 120-plus flex. The 98mm last is firmly low-volume, so this is built for skiers with skinny to medium-narrow feet. The 100 flex makes it accessible for skiers building strength and refining technique while keeping the door open for harder skiing as ability grows.
The shell and cuff are both polyurethane, and ExoDrive adds a third overlap that improves heel hold and lets the boot flex as a more unified system. Closure runs through a BOA Fit System dial mounted at the cuff replacing the upper buckle, paired with two screwed aluminum buckles down low. Tucked inside is the heat-moldable S/Pro CF Expert liner with Light² Footbed, with 4D Talyn construction and the new edgeless Custom Tongue 2.0 for serious customization options. A 45mm screwed Energyzer Velcro power strap finishes the top. GripWalk soles are factory-mounted to ISO 5355. For finer tuning, the cuff alignment is screwed and a 6mm back spoiler comes premounted, giving a fitter plenty of room to work.
The 98mm last is performance-oriented and won't suit wider feet; skiers with medium- or high-volume feet are better served by the S/Pro Supra series at 100mm. The 100 flex is appropriate for a wide range of skiers but advanced and expert skiers who want maximum response should size up to the 110 or 120.
Most skiers won't need to deviate from their normal mondopoint, but at the 100-flex level a fitting appointment is worth booking to dial in fit and alignment.
