Seachem Zeolite pouches are specially designed for use in Tidal Hang On Filters, supplied pre-bagged in durable Seachem Zip Bags featuring corrosion-resistant zippers for convenient handling.
Zeolite is a naturally occurring, highly-porous mineral renowned for its exceptional ability to bind ammonia and heavy metals through a powerful ion exchange mechanism. Offering the highest ammonia binding capacity available—ten times greater than some alternatives and twice that of the nearest competitor—this media effectively supports water quality in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It does so without depleting calcium levels in saltwater or increasing general hardness in freshwater environments where ionic strength is low.
For optimal performance, rinse the Zeolite before use but do not remove it from its mesh bag. Lay the mesh bag lengthwise and distribute the Zeolite evenly before placing it inside the Tidal filter basket, positioning it above any foam and below biological filtration media. This setup ensures efficient filtration and helps maintain a healthy aquatic environment.
