The Goldsboro Bridge New Edition is a story about a once black owned incorporated city called Goldsboro nick name Bokey. It was established on December 1,1891 by Mr. William Clark. Goldsboro was the second black incorporated city because Eatonville was the first black incorporated city in Florida. Mr. William Clark was a store owner and a businessman who everyone loved, trusted and respected. He got with 19 black citizens and incorporated Goldsboro. However, all of that changed on April 6, 1911. by a man named Forest Lake who was a prominent politician, real estate broker, banker, mayor of Sanford, Florida and a member of the Florida House of Representatives. He played an important role in the groweth of Sanford, Florida. The story starts about a man named Henry Shelton Sanford who Sanford, Florida is named after. They wanted to expand and would take every step necessary in order to do so even if they had to steal. On April 6, 1911, Forrest Lake abolished the charter of Goldsboro and Sanford and forced Goldsboro to emerge with Sanford on April 26, 19 11 the legislator passed the Sanford Charter bill. Forrest Lake never kept the promise he made to Mr. William Clark. Over $10.000 was owed to Goldsboro by the city of Sanford.
